If the Rose Bowl game is the Grandaddy of all college football games, the Junior Rose Bowl is the Grandbaby of all college football games. The Junior Rose Bowl was organized by the Pasadena Junior Chamber of Commerce, created to annually match the best California junior college team against the best from the rest of the country. The first game was played on December 7, 1946, and continued until 1967 when the format was changed from junior colleges to four year colleges. In 1968 the name was changed to the Pasadena Bowl, which survived for only a few years thereafter. Here are some pennants and pin-back buttons from these rather obscure events.
